We have tried to teach him on off to clap but he's never been big on it. But this morning out of nowhere he starts clapping and he's thrilled with himself for doing it. so very cute. an hour or so later when I was trying to get him to sleep and he was a bit grizzly about it he started clapping in bed and it seemed like his thinking was "look at me mum so clever, surely you don't really want me to go to sleep?!"

look at that, remote in one hand phone in other (he loves pressing on/off button on phone and hearing it make noise and watching little light come on) watching tv. Am i am bad mum?! although he is sitting with dad so guess I can blame him.

one minute it's mostly commando crawling and then suddenly it's real crawling and pulling himself up on everything. cute but unnerving and realise how much childproofing we have to do.


wouldn't be watching the tv again would he??! (bad mummy)


his favourite book, 'peekaboo'. has flaps to turn with babies behind and he loves turning them back and forth.


cousins together.

more pictures of the growing boy. he pulled himself up on one of the dining room chairs this morning. I didn't see him do it just walked back into room and got a fright as when I had walked out he was lying on his back on the floor. Also has crawling well sussed and getting faster every day.

LOVES this balloon. had it for ages. he giggles when we kick or hit it in air for him and he spent a lot of time bopping on floor with it like this. It popped this morning but thankfully of it's own accord, not while being played with.

looks great in our hats. loves pulling them off best.

Trying to teach 'gentle' with the cat but mostly he just get's the bash. Which would be fine except he's a grumpy old man of a cat (at only 4 years old...) and his claws come out too quick.

LOVES the computer and bashing the keyboard and pushing the mouse about.

below, the photo we got enlarged and framed for my mum for mother's day. it was Lachlan's first solids and mum was holding him. I also got it put on a coffee cup which I still gave her but it didn't look as good.

i can still knit! I have been for a few weeks now. for a time it felt like maybe I would never be able to knit again but life returns. yay! so I am pretty much just knitting for LJ. Not the best pic (camera issues, the hubbie has been growled at.. flat battery and then full memory card.. i just want to be able to use it not stuff about with it...) but realised if I don't post these soon they might not fit him.

Been going baby hat crazy and knitted one for each of LJ's (3) cousin's, 2 for LJ and one for a friend's bub in Auckland. I might be over baby hat knitting for a bit now :)

not posted for AGES as we got a new camera a while back and someone set it so it does 'clever' things with the images.. but that means i can't just post them here and have to convert and shrink and generally faff about with them. i want quick and easy.

when he did not want to be put down the other day but I had an urgent need that could not be resolved while holding a baby, I put him in the washing basket. he quite liked it.

he does eat it now (and had banana and avocado mixed up for breakfast this morning) but pulls the most amazing faces at it.


no, it's not canterbury colours... my dad bought it in oz before LJ was born. mum dragged him into Myers as there was a sale. she was picking up loads and she said he was telling her off for buying so much. then he saw this (not on sale - full price) and had to get it.
